This is the Thurnscoe Vics team from the 1937 Sheffield Cup winning team.  Some players left in the summer to Sheffield Wednesday and Aston Villa

This is not Thurnscoe Vics.  It is Dale Brown FC of Mexborough.  Third from the left is Joe Venables of Mexborough, who played in the Montagu Cup final in 1938 for Thurnscoe Vics.  It is his medal, that Joe's son, Malcolm, has kept.
